Matt C: A much busier week of comics than last week, although it could have been even busier if all the Marvel books due for release were arriving in the UK. Still, it's a hefty stack for me to pick up on Wednesday, and I think Deadly Class from Image will be resting on top of it. Following the really rather excellent Black Science it would be somewhat foolish to ignore any new creator-owned series from Rick Remender, especially one that centres around a school for the next generation of assassins. Elsewhere, another new issue #1, has my attention, even though it's not really a #1 at all. Unwritten Volume 2: Apocalypse #1 will hopefully provide a shot in the arm for the once great series that had recently been experiencing extreme difficulty matching its former glories (the crossover with Fables, which favoured that title's continuity, didn't help). I've got my fingers crossed that Mike Carey can turns things around here, and I guess if anyone can, he can. Other books of note? Well there's the second issue of Origin II (which really needs to be a bit more meaty than the first) along with the second issue of the crime mini, Dead Body Road. Oh, and there is of course the next issue of the PCG's official favourite comic, with issue #16 of Hawkeye due to hit the stands. Eagle-eyed readers may notice something amiss here, and yes, it appears that issue #15 will be out in February! No, it doesn't make sense to me either. The crazy world of comics, eh?
