The PCG's Top 15 Current Comics - September 2016

Once more the assembled membership of the PCG have put on their thinking caps and compiled their Top 15 Current Comics to provide a more concise look at what they're currently reading and (more importantly) enjoying...

15. Black Hammer (Dark Horse)
14. The Paybacks (Heavy Metal)
13. Manifest Destiny (Image)
12. Saga (Image)
11. Low (Image)
10. East Of West (Image)
  9. Mighty Thor (Marvel)
  8. The Vision (Marvel)
  7. Kill Or Be Killed (Image)
  6. Black Science (Image)
  5. Providence (Avatar)
  4. Sheriff Of Babylon (DC/Vertigo)
  3. Deadly Class (Image)
  2. Southern Bastards (Image)
  1. Lazarus (Image)

Matt C: Five months since we last ran one of these and something of a reshuffle is in evidence with ten titles staying in the Top 15 (albeit shifting upwards or downwards) and five other books making either a first or return appearance. Image dominates again, taking almost two thirds of the chart, which shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone who frequents this site. Lazarus returns to the summit for the first time since April 2014, although every time we've compiled a chart since then it's stuck steadfastly within the Top 3. Marvel have two repeat entries with The Vision and Mighty Thor (Doctor Strange has dived from No.3 straight out of the chart... for now) but perhaps more interesting is that no books released under DC's 'Rebirth' banner have managed to make a dent. Several titles received votes, but none had enough to push them near the top. We'll see if that changes over the coming months, but for now there's not an awful lot of difference, which is no bad thing as I guess it proves many of these books have stayed in our favour because, simply, they're great comics. If you want a decent idea of where the good stuff is at in the mainstream these days, we like to think our chart offers a pretty solid set of recommendations.
